Mr. Klayton Hilleary is currently in his 14th year of teaching and his ninth year at Wapakoneta City Schools.  In his duties as head director, Mr. Hilleary is responsible for the Wapakoneta High School Symphonic Band, 8th grade band, and 7th grade band. He co-directs the Pep and fifth grade bands and team teaches the 6th grade and high school marching bands. Prior to coming to Wapakoneta he spent 2 years as director of bands at Waynesfield-Goshen and three years as director of bands at Minster Local Schools.

After graduating from Celina High School in 1979, Mr. Hilleary spent four years on active duty in the United States Air Force. After his four year enlistment he began attending Ohio Northern University and then transferred to Bowling Green University to finish his Bachelor of Music Education. In the late 1990’s Hilleary reenlisted in the air national guard and spent 2 years in the 555th Air National Guard Band, “The Band of the Great Lakes” playing lead trumpet in their jazz band, trumpet in their concert band, and performing some conducting responsibilities. In 2003, Mr. Hilleary earned his Masters in Music Education, With an Emphasis in Conducting from Bowling Green State University. Mr. Hilleary is a member of Ohio Music Educators Association, Music Educators National Conference, and Ohio Educators Association. In 2007, Mr. Hilleary was inducted into the American School Band Directors Association, and became an official Ohio Music Education Association adjudicator.

Mr. Hilleary resides outside of Wapakoneta with his wife Mary and three sons Benjamin, Kaleb, and Joshua.

Steven Wimmers is currently in his ninth year of teaching and his seventh year as assistant director of bands at Wapakoneta High School.  His teaching responsibilities include directing the Wapakoneta Concert Band, Pep Band, fifth and sixth grade bands, and assisting the Wapakoneta Marching Band.  Prior to coming to Wapakoneta he spent 2 years as director of bands, grades five through twelve, in the Riverdale Local Schools.

He is a graduate of Minster High School and received his Bachelor of Music and Masters in Education from Bowling Green State University.  Mr. Wimmers is a member of Ohio Music Educators Association, Music Educators National Conference, Percussive Arts Society and Ohio Educators Association.

Mr. Wimmers resides in Botkins with his wife Kelly and two daughters Haley and Hannah.
